The "Futuristic" Dream

Created: 5-24-03

THE ‘FUTURISTIC’ DREAM

It was the last week of school. Everyone was anxious to get out of school and their life out in the big open. The fun-loving students of Middleton High were enjoying a perfect ballroom night at Silk Harbour Hotel.

“Hey, Kim,” Monique asked, munching a drumstick she got from the buffet. “What do you want to be when you’re out in the big world?”

“You first,” Kim said.

“Don’t mind if I do. I’m definitely going to be the world’s greatest businesswoman. Maybe even become the Businesswoman of the Year!”

“I bet,” Ron commented with a grin. “With all that ludicrous ideas and your outrageous obsession about Club Banana collected in your brain, I bet you make a great businesswoman.”

“Are you accusing me of being crazy?!” Monique growled.

“Not exactly. But then again, if you ask about my dream, it’ll always be the world’s greatest actor, like Haley Joel Osment in Pay It Forward! Man, that show rocks! I’ve watched it 4 times and 4 times I cried at the end of the movie.”

“You are so emotional, Ron. You might be a good actor, provided you don’t forget the lines all the time like that incident during primary school!” Kim commented quietly, resulting in a venomous look from Ron.

“It’s a drag to grow up and get out into the big world,” Josh Mankey complained. “Being like this seemed pretty a-OK.”

“I bet Josh wants to be an artist or a painter of some sort. You do have talent, you know,” Ron suggested. Josh only scratched his head gingerly.

“It’s professional football for me,” Flagg voiced out.

“That is so lame,” Bonnie appeared out of the blue and butted in the conversation. “I have better things in mind, you know!”

“And what is it, pray tell, do you want to be, Bonnie?” Kim turned to Bonnie grudgingly.

“Me?” Bonnie had her hand on her chest dramatically. “Haven’t you noticed? I am going to the world’s most famous model, or maybe a professional cheerleader for all the hottest sports team. Once they have a craze over me, they’ll be begging to have me and I will dominate the whole industry!”

“Don’t get carried away. That is so not the original,” Kim said, waving the annoyed Bonnie away.

“Hey, not fair! We told you ours but you haven’t told us yours!” Monique complained, pointing her spoon at Kim. Kim held up her hands in surrender.

“OK, OK, I’ll spill,” Kim grinned. “There would be no reason to deny that my crime-busting days will never be over, but my hope is to be a fashion designer. The fashion today is so not the type. There is nothing in this industry that actually has the better black.”

“Great! Then once your designs are in the market, don’t forget to send them to Club Banana!” Monique squealed, resulting to an exasperated groan from Ron.

She also had another dream in mind, but she had no intention to say what it was. If the others could read her mind, they would probably see wedding bells and see her and Ron walking down the aisle, saying their vows and sharing a kiss.

Of course, she wouldn’t dare to let her crush Ron know or she’ll die of embarrassment, but she hoped that this dream will come true. Sure, she had a few crushes with Josh Mankey but it was not as deep as her crush on Ron since pre-school. Both of them came a long, long way and Kim had learned to cherish it. As her mother would say, “If you can’t love the one you want, love the one you’re with.”

Yet until now, she still hadn’t the guts to tell that to Ron.

“Kim! Kim, wake up! You’ll be late!”

Kim groaned as she pulled the covers over her. “Mom! Today’s class is not until 8.30! I don’t even think there’ll be much school left!”

“What are you talking about? Why would you want to go to school?” Mrs. Possible asked in a surprised tone. “You’re already 26 years old. You don’t need to go to school!”

“Huh?!” Kim woke up with a start. 26? That’s totally impossible! She sat up groggily and muttered, “Mom, don’t bug me. I’m not even 19 yet. I can’t be 26!”

“You’re already past 19, Kim! Go take a look at yourself in the mirror!”

Kim rushed to the mirror and saw that she looked more grown up and much more mature than she was when she was—is—18. Her hair has been cut short till shoulder-length, almost like Mrs. Possible. That night during the ballroom night it was still perfectly long.

‘This can’t be! My name is Kimberly Anne Possible, 18 years old, just graduated from Middleton High!’ Kim thought to herself. ‘I can’t be 26 now!’

Yet when she closed her eyes and thought back, the memories swam back to her. She began muttering to herself, “Oh yeah, I remember now…I’ve already out of Middleton High for years. I even graduated from college at Ireland and finished a secretarial course in Norway…Oh…right, I’ve been working as a secretary in a firm for…4 years…”

That’s when she almost snapped and shrieked in horror. She grabbed her office bag, put on her work clothes and dabbed on some lipstick, complaining as she went, “Mom! Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?! I’m gonna be late!”

Mrs. Possible sighed with relief and said, “Now that’s my girl.”

Without finishing her breakfast, she dashed to catch the next subway train to get to her workplace.

Kim had a hard day at work as usual. Her boss scolded her for being late and her Head Secretary, who was (surprisingly) the one and only Bonnie, gave her tons and tons of work as punishment for being late. Kim’s colleague whispered that Bonnie was getting air-headed all over ever since she was promoted to Head Secretary by the boss, and she thinks that there must be something that spells ‘AFFAIR’ is going on between her and the boss. Kim found it hard to believe that the arrogant air-headed Bonnie who claimed that she’ll become a model would end up in this field.

Kim lay back for a while and thought back. Memories of her in Middleton High came running through her head, like it had just happened to her yesterday. In fact, everything that came through her mind seemed like yesterday.

“How can this be?” Kim whispered to herself. “I remember so much about the days in Middleton High, but I haven’t much a clue about my life right now. It’s as if I have changed immediately from an 18-year-old girl to a 26-year-old office secretary. This can’t be! This is not me! That’s right, this is not the real me!”

“What are you babbling to yourself about?” Kim’s colleague tapped her on the shoulder. “The Head is calling you.”

Kim turned around and saw Bonnie gesturing her with a phone handle on her hand. She walked towards her and Bonnie gave her a superior look before saying, “5 minutes.”

“Hello?” Kim answered the call.

“Hey, Kim! It’s me!” It was Monique on the phone. “I’m celebrating my 5th anniversary today! You’re invited, and I won’t take no for an answer!”

“Sure! I’ll be glad to go!” Kim said, relieved to hear someone familiar on the phone again. “Can I go there a little early? I wanna have a little chat.”

“No problem! Come as early as you want! We haven’t been talking for almost God-knows-how-many years now! It’s time to go down Memory Lane!”

“I’ll be there as soon as possible.”

It took her quite an effort to persuade Bonnie to let her leave early.

“Kim, I am so glad you’re here!” Monique rushed to hug Kim. Monique was so much fairer and more fashionably pretty that Kim felt as if she was a status lower than her.

“I’m glad to see you too,” Kim returned her hug and said, “Look, can we talk for a second?”

“Wait, I want you to check out this new lipstick commercial,” Monique said as she turned on the TV. When Kim turned to look, she saw a scene where a beautiful lady accidentally falls onto a handsome blonde man in a subway train and smudges her lips onto his collar, but the collar didn’t stain. When Kim looked a little closer, she saw that the handsome blonde was actually Ron!

“Cool, huh? Ron is a big hit among the entertainment line and he has been doing commercials all around the globe! Of course, you know that, anyway. He’s now about to do a movie with George Clooney, Van Damme, Vin Diesel and Chris Rock entitled ‘The Sex God’. Haley Joel Osment will be acting as well! Isn’t he lucky?”

“Yeah, he’s…doing real great,” Kim replied nervously. She was surprised to see Ron actually succeeded in following his dreams as an actor. And she was also surprised and a little jealous at Monique’s sudden obsession over him.

“So, what is it you want to talk about?” Monique asked as she led Kim to the nursery room. “Come in. I can change the kids’ diapers as we speak.”

The nursery room was a heavenly thing to see. It was decorated fit for a baby prince. Kim looked in awe.

“Cool, huh?” Monique asked. “I got these beauty room tips from Josh. He’s really good.”

“I can see that.” Kim was about to ask how come Josh suddenly turned out to be an interior designer but decided against it.

That’s when she noticed the kids: all three of them. She actually had triplets! Kim was surprised at what a used-to-be thin girl like Monique could ‘do’ to have these. As Monique fixed her kids, Kim told her everything.

“Let me get this straight. You think that you’re not the real you? Like your 18-year-old brain is sucked into a 26-year-old body?”

“That’s right,” Kim nodded.

“You got to be kidding me. Have you lost your memory or something? Too much work in the office, or are you trying to escape reality?”

“No, I’m not! I’m telling the truth; I don’t know anything much about us now! I can only remember the past, that’s it!”

Monique stared at her like some crazy woman and grinned, saying, “Come on, no time for your jokes anymore! Maybe later this evening during the party, a little champagne will help clear your mind.”

“But I’m…” Kim’s protest was cut short by a honking at the gate.

“Oh, that must be the big brother coming home. You wanna go see him?”

“You have…another kid?” Kim was really surprised at Monique’s fertility.

Once they went out of the house and to the gates, Kim noticed that the teacher of the kindergarten bus that sent Monique’s son home was none other than Josh! Kim almost gagged when she saw him carrying the boy with a smile on his face and handing him to Monique. As the bus drove off, Kim looked at Monique with questioning eyes.

“Don’t you remember? Josh quit his job as an interior designer when one of his houses he designed for an ambassador collapsed during a landslide. No one blamed him, of course—it was just an accident—but he kept blaming himself. He couldn’t stand the pain of having to see someone die by his own creation. He decided to take a much kinder job, which is to be a kindergarten teacher. He’s pretty a-OK now than before.”

As the minutes went by, Kim became more and more convinced that she was not the real her. If she was, how could she not remember any detail about her life after Middleton High and about her friends? How come the memory of the school was still fresh in her mind? That did not make sense!

“Hi, Monique! Sorry we’re late.”

It was Flagg and Bonnie. Flagg was almost a tad less muscular now and Bonnie was as arrogant as ever but much slimmer and prettier than before. Kim couldn’t help feeling amazed. She didn’t notice her change at the office. She was surprised that Monique actually invited her yet Bonnie pretended not to know about it. Kim felt exasperated with Bonnie’s attitude.

“No, you guys are just in time. The other guests haven’t arrived yet, unfortunately, and the man is no where to be found!” Monique joked.

“I got us some red wine,” Bonnie said as she handed the cold bottle to Monique, then turned to Kim and stressed, “Very exclusive. A 1940’s brand.”

“So how are the stocks going on?” Monique asked.

“Ugh! Not too good. The M&M’s and the Salt & Pepper are going down and the rival TicTacs are rising like wild. I had to sell out everything!” Flagg groaned as he waved away Monique’s question.

“You’re a stock broker?” Kim asked. “I thought you want to be a…”

“A professional football player? Not if you’ve dislocated both your knee and arm in 7 games straight! Doesn’t Bonnie update you or something?” Flagg said with an air of pride in him. “Your company’s shares are on my table, you know. I bet you don’t even know that Monique has already received The Silver Dragon Award for her great performance in her Club Banana company, huh?”

Kim wanted to say no but she’d rather just keep quiet.

“Ah, finally the husband’s here!” Bonnie exclaimed as she turned to the door. Kim turned to look. There he was, standing there, her dream prince, her crush: Ron. He looked so professional and smart with his shoulder-length blonde hair and his now freckle-less face. He looked so much more mature and handsome than the last time she saw him. Kim couldn’t help being mesmerized.

“Honey, where have you been?” Monique whined playfully as she held Ron’s arm around her.

“Sorry, Mon. I simply must get this roast,” Ron replied, kissing her on the forehead. “An anniversary is not complete without a roast, you know.”

Rufus popped out of his suit pocket and nodded, “Uh-huh, uh-huh!”

Kim’s world suddenly collapsed. How could this be? Why was Monique married to Ron? Why wasn’t it her? Like a thunderbolt, the bitter memory crashed through her mind: wedding bells, a walk down the aisle, vows made, kisses given…yet it was Monique and Ron doing all this and not her. She was part of the guests invited to attend their wedding! It wasn’t her wedding! It was Monique’s wedding! She remembered breaking up painfully with Ron after she went to college in Ireland, and now he has taken Monique as his lawful wedded wife instead!!

Kim couldn’t take it anymore. She ran out of the living room crying. Everyone was surprised at her sudden behaviour. As she dashed out of the gates, Monique called after her.

“Go and see him! You’ll remember everything then! I’m sure of it! Go and see him!”

Kim knew who she meant. It was Wade. He may not stand out much like the rest of the group (he never did anyway), but he had the brains, and he had a great memory. Surely he’ll update her on things.

When she went to his home for the first time, no one knew where he was. Everyone said that he and his family had moved out a few years ago to somewhere in the suburbs, losing contact with the rest of the world. No one knows how to get to him anymore. Kim tried to call him using Kimmunicator but realized from a bit of her adult memory that she had already stopped the crime-busting business for a very long time and all the gadgets she used to have were all dumped into the storeroom somewhere. Downcast, Jude left the house with a heavy heart.

At the gates where, she was greeted by two familiar faces. They were the twins. Her twin brothers have actually grown up so fast, and were actually quite handsome.

“Jim? Tim?”

“You’re looking for Wade, right?” Jim asked.

“Yeah. Do you know where he is?”

“Hop in. We’ll take you there.” Tim replied.

So saying, she went into the twins’ Volvo. They had a long drive down through the suburbs. After which seemed like a few hours, they finally reached the foot of a small hill. Kim got off the car and saw that on the hill was the most beautiful five floored medical house she had ever seen. There is no other design as beautiful as this.

“Beautiful, isn’t it? Josh designed that clinic before he quit his job,” Tim said as he went back to their car. “Well, I’d best be going now.”

“Guys? Why? Aren’t you going to come with me to the house?”

“We loved to come with you,” Jim replied from the car, “but NASA back there needs us. We just came back for a while to ask Dad to provide us with some necessities.”

The twins drove off, leaving Kim to herself, surprising her again with their current achievements. Slowly she walked up the hill and towards the house. She saw Wade sitting at the porch with an old woman.

“Can I help you?” the woman asked.

“Uh, hi, I’m Wade’s friend, Kim Possible. I believe this is the first time we met.”

“Kim Possible! I know you very well!” the woman smiled weakly and offered her a seat. “Wade told me all about you, and you have been partners with him for quite sometime. I’m Wade’s mother. Pleased to meet you.”

“What is he doing here? Wade, what…?”

Her words were cut short. She saw Wade thin and pale, his eyes staring into space, oblivious to everything around him. He had a bag of fluid hanging from the pole attached to the wheelchair he was sitting. On both his wrists were deep scars, like he was slashed by a piece of glass or some sort.

“What…happened…?”

“It’s not surprising that you don’t know,” Wade’s mother chuckled bitterly. “My son Wade has been here for years now. A few years ago, after you retired from the crime-busting job, he assisted a new crime-buster named Mike Trouble, yet he died when he was battling with some villain or some sort. It was an accident, really, but he kept blaming himself. He kept saying that he should’ve given Mike Trouble better gadgets or given him a better coordination to attack the villain or else he wouldn’t have died. He tried to commit suicide but we saved him just in time. Yet he lost too much blood and had too much pressure that his brain has sort of damaged. He can’t hear you now and probably won’t ever respond to you anymore than he responded to me.”

Kim broke into tears all over again. This cannot be happening! This just cannot be happening! It was bad enough that she wasn’t married to her crush. Now she had lost another best friend! This wasn’t fair! This wasn’t the life she expected it to be! This wasn’t her future; this was this Kim’s future, not the real Kim’s future! This wasn’t real! Not real at all!!!

“No! No, this can’t be happening! It’s not true!” Kim wailed, unable to take the truth that was in front of her eyes.

“I know it’s hard to accept this—I’ve been fighting this for quite a while. It is sad for my son, but reality is just so cruel.”

“No, it’s not supposed to happen! This is not the real me! I’m not 26 years old yet! I’m still 18, still studying in Middleton High! Give me back my life! I want my life back!!”

“K…P…KP…”

Kim looked up and was surprised to see Wade talking. She knelt in front of Wade, saying, “Wade? Wade, you’re talking! You’re talking! I can’t believe this!”

“Dr. Drakken…Took your soul…Shift you to…the future…Let you see…the bitter part…of your life…after school…This…future is not…impossible…”

“What? How did you know all this?” Kim was surprised.

“Felt electromagnetic…aura…Come here…” Wade was struggling to speak. Kim leaned nearer to Wade. He took out a notepad computer from under the blanket over his legs and, with a shaking hand, pulled out a plug and stuck it onto Jude’s shoulder and muttered, “I have…code…Destroy…the machine implanted on you…Goodbye, Kim…Create your own…future…”

Kim saw Wade clicking away on the notepad computer furiously. Though he may be weak, his fingers weren’t. She saw the small spider-like device burst out of her shoulder, squirting blood everywhere. The pain was excruciating, like she had been shot at close range. Before she slipped into unconsciousness, she saw Wade smiling kindly at her…

Kim woke with a start when she heard her alarm clock rang. She got up in a thrice and check her features. Same long auburn hair, same 18-year-old face, same everything. It was like everything that happened to her was just simply a dream. But when she saw her shoulder bleeding and the blood stains on her bed sheets, she knew that it was all true. Dr. Drakken must be very furious by now. She had to admit, this was Dr. Drakken’s best invention yet. She asked for her mother to bandage her shoulder before going to school. For once she wore a long-sleeved bellybutton T-shirt for this.

As she walked to school, she saw that everything was back to normal. Everyone was in their original selves: Monique, Ron, Josh, Flagg and even Bonnie.

“Morning, guys!” Kim said gleefully.

“You seemed awfully cheerful today,” Monique said. “Had a great dream last night?”

“Well…let’s just say I’m glad I’m awake.”

“Why? Afraid that you’ll never get to see your dear Ron again?” Monique grinned slyly. Everyone laughed at her joke. Ron protested loudly but Kim suddenly took his hand.

“Let them be. They…are quite right. I was afraid that…I’ll never see you again.”

Soon everyone oohed at Kim and Ron who were blushing redder than tomatoes.

One Last Kiss

ONE LAST KISS

“You’re kidding, right? Tell me, Ron! Tell me you’re kidding!”

Kimberly Anne Possible and Ronald Dean Stoppable were in Buenos Nacho eating their normal order of tacos in chilli sauce, nachos in melted cheese, sundae and green soda fizz. Rufus the naked mole rat was trying to reach for the nachos but was stopped by Ron’s annoyed glare. He just announced his leave to Manila and Kim was trying to deny the fact.

“How could you go to Manila at such short notice? You don’t even know if this news is true!” Kim said with a look of disbelief running across her face.

“I have to go. I don’t belong here. They’ve spoke the truth. My birthmark has proven the case. I am their long lost son after the long Manila civil war,” Ron replied, showing the birthmark of a dragonfly on his chest.

“But…But anyone could have that birthmark! It’s not just only you, you know! Besides, you got your parents, right? They’re your real parents, so how could those people suddenly show up in your house and say that you’re their kid?”

“Uhh…there’s something you should know,” Ron said sadly.

“What? They’re not your real parents?”

“Bingo,” Ron replied unenthusiastically, “they’re not. They’re just some of my relatives whom I happen to call them ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’ ‘coz they’ve been taking care of me ever since I was a little toddler of 2. I have no idea who my parents were. I guess the family I’m living with isn’t exactly my relatives after all.”

“But look at yourself! You don’t even look like someone from Manila! You have blonde hair and brown eyes! A typical American citizen!” Kim was trying to convince Ron that this whole thing was just a mistake.

“I said the same thing too, until they showed me the pictures. My dad is an American prince. My mom is the Manila duchess. I inherit most of my looks from my dad.”

“I…I…but…”

“Come on, KP! I’ve been living in a false family all my life, I never even got to know my parents for goodness knows how long, and now they showed up and wanted me back! I just want a real family of my own! I want to get to know my real mom and dad! This is the moment I’ve been waiting for all my life! Is it so much to ask, KP? Don’t you want me to be reunited with my real family? Won’t you feel the same way too if this were to happen to you?”

Kim was taken aback by Ron’s sudden outburst, “Well…yes, I would. But…”

“Look on the bright side, KP,” Ron smiled cheerfully, “at least I won’t have to risk myself dying every time we’re in a mission. I can live a royal life and see how it feels to be a prince. I might be a duke or a king someday.”

“Yeah, true…” Kim said weakly and got off her seat. “I’m sorry. I gotta go. Got loads of homework to do.”

“You will come tomorrow to the airport to see me go now, won’t you?” Ron asked hopefully.

Kim nodded and walked out of Buenos Nacho, not wanting Ron to see her choking in tears.

Kim sighed as she came out of the shower. She left her auburn red hair to dry itself after much rubbing and squeezing. She never let it dry itself before. She always blow-dries it to perfection. Now that there was no one to see her perfectly done hair, she didn’t feel the necessary to do so.

Out of the blue, she noticed her photo album jutting out of her shelf. She took it out and flipped through the pictures.

Looking at the pages of my life
Faded memories of me and you
Mistakes you know I've made a few

She saw pictures of her and Ron almost at every page. Come to think of it, they have been together for almost all their lives since preschool. She saw pictures of them throwing mud balls at each other, posing during their preschool graduation day, making funny faces at the camera during a primary school field-trip, and going through their school activities, like Kim as the cheerleader while Ron was the hopeless basketball player; Kim and Ron sharing a stand in the school bazaar selling burritos and tacos sponsored by Buenos Nacho; Kim and Ron’s show-and-tell; and even more poses of their primary school graduation day. There were even pictures of them in high school now and pictures of their outfits when they were into the mission team.

I took some shots and fell from time to time
Baby, you were there to pull me through
We've been around the block a time or two

As Kim recalled, they have been through thick and thin throughout their missions. They’ve battled demented villains like Dr. Drakken and her sidekick Shego, Monkeyfist, DNAnna, and more. Whenever the mission started, they were always together, no matter which side of the world they jet in. Sometimes, when things got tough, it was Ron who got them out of the situation, even though his methods seemed goofy. Without the bright and sunny, outgoing and optimistic Ron, how could she be able to take all this pressure of balancing between school and crime-fighting, not to mention her own personal life?

I'm gonna lay it on the line
Ask me how we've come this far
The answer's written in my eyes

As she thought back even further, she found out that Ron was the most important person in her life. She was grateful that the mission chose Ron to be her sidekick. She realized that all this while, she had been taking their friendship for granted. Now that Ron said he was leaving not just for a trip, but for good, she realized his role in her life was so essential, she would most likely be unable to survive without. If he left her, who would be her next sidekick? Definitely someone who will not be as good as Ron. Certainly will not be someone who would care about her safety as much as Ron does. And definitely will not be someone who will be there whenever she needed comfort and moral support. No one can compare with Ron. No one!

[Chorus:]
Every time I look at you, baby, I see something new
That takes me higher than before and makes me want you more
I don't wanna sleep tonight, dreamin's just a waste of time
When I look at what my life's been comin' to
I'm all about lovin' you

Slowly Kim took out every picture there is in the photo album, the ones that has Ron in it, and removed her bathrobes. She laid all the pictures on her naked body and let herself be absorbed into Ron’s imaginary presence, let herself be consumed by her Ron’s imaginary touch and love. She had fallen so deeply in love with Ron that she craved for his touch, for his body, for his soul. Throughout her whole mission (and a few body contact between them at that), her heart bloomed for him and grew more and more each day. She couldn’t stand losing him then and she couldn’t stand losing him now.

*

Kim went to the airport to meet Ron. She was now convinced that what the people who told Ron about his royal past were true. Wade has confirmed it by showing a picture of Ron when he was a toddler in a very royal-looking nursery room. She could tell from the looks that this toddler was Ron when he was 2 by the exact blonde hair and freckles and those stunning pair of hazel brown eyes. And, most sadly, the dragonfly birthmark on his chest.

Ron was there waiting for her. He was wearing a smart-looking suit with Rufus hiding inside his suit pocket, and he was accompanied by two Manila bodyguards. Ron excused them and walked towards Kim. Judging by Ron’s surprised expression, she could see that he was impressed with her white belly-button blouse and pink plaited mini-skirt, with her auburn hair tied up in a bun.

“Nice clothes, KP!” Ron said admiringly.

“Gotta be dressed for the future prince now, shouldn’t I?” Kim tried to sound outgoing. “Wade sends his regards.”

“Tell him that I’ll miss him. And so will I to you. You’re a great friend, KP. I appreciate that.”

“Friend, yeah. Of course,” Kim replied weakly. How devastating to know that he didn’t even notice her feelings for him!

I've lived, I've loved, I've lost, I've paid some dues, baby
We've been to hell and back again
Through it all you're always my best friend

“Look, before you go, I wanna tell you something,” Kim started, blushing like never before.

“Me too, Kim,” Ron replied, his face going pink. “Why don’t you go first?”

“No, you go first.”

“No, you first.”

“Let’s say it together and figure out what we are trying to say,” Kim said finally after much bickering.

“You’re on, KP,” Ron replied. They were about to say it when they heard the boarding call for Ron’s flight to Manila.

For all the words I didn't say and all the things I didn't do
Tonight I'm gonna find a way

“Your Highness, we have to go,” one of the bodyguards voiced out.

“Hang on, man! It’s not the last call yet! KP, I mean Kim, I…”

Suddenly both of them blurted out at the same time, “I love you!!”

Both of them were stunned. They didn’t expect to hear such answers from each other. Kim could not hold her tears for long. She burst out sobbing in Ron’s arms. Ron hugged her tight and inhaled her lovely auburn hair, stroking her soft back, not wanting to let her go. Time stood still between them.

“Oh God, why do you have to leave me? I can’t live without you! There is no way I can survive this life without your reassurance and care. I don’t want to lose you for good!” Kim said as she continued sobbing.

“Shh…It’s alright, Kim. You’ll still do well without me. I’m sure of it. You can get a new sidekick that’s better than me…”

“I don’t want to have a new sidekick! No one can be better than you! I want you! You and only you!”

“There, there, Kim. It’s gonna be alright. I’ll email you everyday. I promise.”

“But it won’t feel the same without you…”

“Oh, how I wish I wasn’t the son of a prince now,” Ron said, a hint of quiver in his tone.

The last call was made. The bodyguards urged Ron to leave. Kim grabbed Ron’s sleeve and whispered, “Before you go, one last kiss.”

“We never even kiss before!” Ron replied sheepishly.

“This’ll be our first and last.”

Ron slowly took Kim’s chin and brought her close to his lips. Kim closed her eyes and let Ron have all the control this time. He kissed her lightly at first, then kissed her more and more deeply, sucking her lips and sliding his tongue into her mouth, tasting every inch of her mouth inside, sending her all his love. He took her waist and brought her close to him, still kissing her passionately. Kim just let him do the work. She used to be in lead in the past, but now he was in control.

[Chorus:]
Every time I look at you, baby, I see something new
That takes me higher than before and makes me want you more
I don't wanna sleep tonight, dreamin's just a waste of time
When I look at what my life's been comin' to
I'm all about lovin' you

Finally, they parted. The bodyguards came to Ron and ushered him to go. He waved goodbye at Kim and shouted “I love you!” before disappearing into the doors of the boarding centre. Kim waved goodbye to him too and ran all the way to the airfield. From afar, she saw Ron going into a private plane which has the symbol of the Manila Royalty—a blue falcon. She stood there and watched silently. She didn’t want to arouse Ron’s attention; she decided to let Ron go to his real family and she had no right to change his mind. She stood and watched until the plane finally took off.

Kim was silent all day. She didn’t argue when the twins bickered and gave her a hard time, much to the twins’ surprise. She even finished all her food, including the peas that she hated most, surprising both Mr. and Mrs. Possible. She ignored all of Wade’s calls. She was sure that they got her a new sidekick and she didn’t want to hear a word of it. The mission seemed unimportant to her now that Ron’s not around. She was even thinking of resigning from this crime-fighting business.

“Kimmy dear, it’s not like you,” Mr. Possible said. “You don’t go fighting crime and stuff, and you just sit here wallowing in self-pity all the time. What’ll Ron think?”

“He won’t think about anything, Dad,” Kim replied weakly, “nothing except royalty, royalty, and more royalty. Besides, isn’t this a good thing? I can be Daddy’s little girl again.”

“Yes, but…oh, honey! Can’t you talk some sense into your headstrong daughter here?”

Mrs. Possible stepped in and laid a hand on her shoulder, saying, “Kim, it’s gonna be alright. You can still keep in touch with Ron. It’s not that bad. He might come back and see you sometime soon.”

“And how soon is that? 10 years? 20 years? Mom, you don’t understand royalty. All they’ll care about would be the world and their subjects. They’ll never leave room for Ron to remember me! Sooner or later Ron will forget about me and what will I do then? I can’t take it anymore!”

So saying, she dashed into her room. Mr. and Mrs. Possible sighed, not knowing what else to say.

Kim couldn’t sleep. All she could think of was Ron. It has a week since Ron left. He hadn’t sent her an email or even called her. She expected this to happen but she still couldn’t help feeling sad and lost without any news from him. He left no form of contact, which mad her even more miserable. Tears began to well up in her eyes and she went into another state of sobbing her eyes out. Ron really meant so much to her. So much that everyday without him now seemed like torture to her.

You can take this world away
You're everything I am
Just read the lines upon my face
I'm all about lovin' you

[Guitar Solo]

As she cried her eyes out, she heard a thump on her open window. She sat up and saw the top of a ladder lying on her window sill. She was surprised. Who would be coming into her room specifically in the middle of the night? When she went near the window, a familiar face popped out and greeted, “Hi, KP!”

Kim was shocked as the person slowly climbed into her room. It was no other than Ron and his naked mole rat Rufus!

“Ron? Ron! What…What are you doing here? How did you…?”

“I don’t have my house keys, and I didn’t want to wake Mom and Dad. So I decided to come to your house,” Ron grinned sheepishly as he always did.

“I…I thought you’re…you’re at Manila! Why did you come back? How?” Kim was too shocked for the right question to come out.

“There’s been an identity mistake. The real prince came to the palace a few days ago. He does look a lot like me, I must admit, but he’s much more define and more princely than me. That birthmark on his chest wasn’t a birthmark at all; it was a very big mole which disappeared as soon as he was about 8 or 9. His real birthmark was on his waist at the back—a beautiful falcon, which was the true symbol of Manila Royalty. It’s just that his mole of the dragonfly was so big—bigger than the falcon—that they assume that this was the only thing that’ll expose his identity. Those stupid royal people completely forgot about the falcon on his back! What a joke! They actually mistook me as the prince! Ha ha ha! Goodness knows what’ll happen if…”

Ron was unable to continue his long chatter. Kim has already hugged Ron, burying her face on his tough chest.

“Aren’t you going to hear how I came back?” Ron asked.

“That’s not important anymore,” Kim whispered. “You’re here. That’s all I ask for.”

“Including this?”

Ron brought Kim’s face up to face his. Without warning, he claimed her lips. Kim didn’t really expect this at first, but a few seconds later, she found herself kissing him hungrily.

[Chorus:]
Every time I look at you, baby, I see something new
That takes me higher than before and makes me want you more
I don't wanna sleep tonight, dreamin's just a waste of time
When I look at what my life's been comin' to
I'm all about lovin' you

When they parted, Ron whispered to Kim’s ear, “Can I sleep with you tonight? On the bed?”

How could she say no? She led him to her bed and they both lay side by side, holding each other in their arms, not letting go. Finally Kim could sleep peacefully through the night. Although nothing happened between them that night (yet), they knew that their feelings for each other have finally become one.

Looks like it wasn’t their one last kiss after all…

All about lovin' you…

FROM KIMMY WITH LOVE

Kim woke up when the train came to a halt. Mr. and Mrs. Possible gathered their luggage and went towards the train door. The twins pushed their way out of the tall grown-ups, anxious to get off the train to check out the scenery. Kim got off the last. She looked around the station, trying to admire the scenery around her. It was autumn in the quaint little countryside of Ireland. She inhaled deeply, enjoying the autumn country air.

Suddenly, at the corner of her eye, she saw someone standing there watching her. She turned around and saw that it was a luggage-carrier boy. It was obviously a country boy by the way he dressed: old long-sleeved shirt and an overall. In his chest pocket was something small, like a rat. He had blonde hair and the cutest pair of hazel-brown eyes. He was pretty fair and had freckles.

“Kimmy dear, come along!” Mr. Possible called as he took Kim’s hand. “No time to bother with people of lower classes than us. Let’s go!”

Kim sighed as she followed her father. Her father was quite status-conscious. He was a rocket scientist and one of the most important people of NASA, which earned him a status and a huge amount of wealth. He constantly reminded his children not to mingle around with commoners, especially those who less than he did. Only Mrs. Possible was the only one in the family who wasn’t so etched about being around normal people. Brain-surgeons like her deal with people from all walks of life, whether it’s the poor or the rich. Luckily Kim did not inherit the haughtiness of her father.

She took one last look at the blonde boy before hurrying along out of the train station with her family.

Kim looked around the train station. There weren’t many passengers today, so she would most likely not meet anyone she knew. She rushed towards the station postboxes and slipped a small scented envelope into a postbox labeled ‘C21’. She had done a few researches of her own (behind her parents’ back, of course) and found out that the blonde hair boy usually gets his mail at that postbox. She hid behind a corner and waited for the boy to appear.

Moments later, the blonde appeared, massaging his tired arms and shoulders. He reached to open his postbox and was surprised to see an envelope in it. He took it and smelt it. He smiled. He loved that scent: cinnamon and peach. He opened the envelope and read its content:

HELLO, STRANGER. REMEMBER ME AT THE TRAIN STATION THAT DAY? YOU STARED AT ME LIKE I WAS A PRINCESS OR SOMETHING. YOU’RE QUITE INTERESTING. I’D LIKE TO GET TO KNOW YOU. CAN WE MEET?

FROM: Kimberly Anne Possible

The blonde held the letter to his chest like it was a precious stone. Kim giggled and came out of her hiding place. She wore exceptionally pretty for this occasion: a belly-button black body-fit T-shirt and a pair of khakis. The blonde almost fell over when he saw her appear. Kim giggled even more.

“You really are an interesting kind of guy,” Kim said as she went near the boy. “What’s your name?”

“The name’s Ronald Dean Stoppable. You can call me Ron,” the boy replied after adjusting himself. He blushed through his freckles really hard though.

“You can call me Kim,” Kim shook his hand. “Your accent. You don’t sound Irish at all.”

“I was an American. My parents here in Ireland adopted me.”

“Oh, OK.”

This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Ron and Kim sat together in the luggage booth of an abandoned train playing cards. They were now in an abandoned railway where no train ever crossed. It had been a month since they’ve met and they have been together almost everyday after school. After Kim’s school hours, that is.

“Don’t you go to school, Ron?” Kim asked as she took another card from the deck.

“Only at night,” Ron replied, arranging his deck of cards. “In the morning, I have to work here to earn some money for myself. My foster family is not that well-off, really.”

“I’m sorry,” Kim apologized. “I didn’t know…”

“It’s OK. I’m used to it. It must be queasy for you to hang around poor kids like me, huh?”

“No! Of course not! I’m not at all like my father! I don’t care about whether they’re rich or not. Nothing about you bothers me, really!”

“Chill out, Kim. I get the point,” Ron chuckled, relieved to know that she wasn’t a person that judge people by their looks. “Why are you here anyway?”

“Ugh! My dad has got this ultimate project about some new version of Sputnik. He always had this kind of stuff. We don’t stay put much. We’re practically a traveling family. All my school stuff is taught by this boring tutor who also travels along with me. Mom also gets calls everywhere to perform surgeries, which makes our traveling even more serious.”

“Wow! You get to travel? That is so cool!” Ron exclaimed in admiration. “I wish I could travel. It’s not fun just looking at people traveling while you yourself have to stay behind and help with their luggage.”

Kim and Ron laughed heartily. Kim felt so relaxed and happy when she was around him. She never felt more blissful than this. Somehow, she felt quite attracted to him. It was like she couldn’t do anything without him by his side to ease her nerves. While she was still halfway through her thoughts, she saw Ron’s chest pocket move, revealing a cute little naked mole rat the size of one and half a palm.

“Hello, Rufus,” Kim greeted as she tickled its throat. Rufus the naked mole rat giggled and nibbled gingerly on Kim’s finger. She got the cue and fished out a bag of cheese slabs from her backpack. Rufus cheered and dived into the open bag, munching away delightfully.

“It’s really weird that a naked mole rat would enjoy eating cheese slabs,” Kim said as she eyed at the naked mole rat in fascination. “Normal naked mole rats eat bugs and stuff.”

“Well, he’s been with me ever since I was a child in the orphanage, so I guess I house-trained him with human food,” Ron grinned, taking another card from the deck. He grinned even wider and said, “Hah! Straight Aces! I win!”

“Not so fast,” Kim said as she laid out her cards. “You can’t beat the Royal Flush!”

“Oh man! You win again!”

They laughed heartily at each other’s antics. Slowly they found themselves staring at each other’s eyes: Ron staring at Kim’s dark forest-green eyes and Kim staring at Ron’s magnificent hazel-brown eyes. Both of them blushed as they looked away shyly.

“Kim, tell me the truth,” Ron said, gathering all the cards back into the deck, “what am I to you?”

“Well,” Kim said as she took out a card from the deck and laid it on the floor of the train, “you are the jack of all trades. What about you?”

Ron blushed through his freckles again. Kim loved to see him like that; it made him look very cute. He fiddled through the cards and laid his card on the floor of the train, saying, “You are the queen of my heart.”

Kim was quite taken aback at first, then she smiled sweetly and took Ron’s hand. Ron smiled back and wrapped his arm around her waist. Both of them sat close together in the luggage booth and laid their heads on each other as they enjoyed the setting sun. Slowly Ron came to Kim’s ear and whispered, “I like you…a lot. I think I’m…”

“Shh. I know, Ron, I know.”

Kim sulked all the way to the train station. She didn’t think that her father would finish with the new version of Sputnik so fast. He announced it just last night, which left Kim no time to say goodbye to Ron. She begged her mother to let her see Ron that late night (of course, she didn’t tell her who Ron was) but Mrs. Possible shook her head apologetically and said, “Sorry, Kimmy. My hands are tied.”

Kim felt utterly angry and hurt about everything. Why did she have such a status-conscious father? Why was her mother so static about everything? Why her twin brothers had to take up her father’s habit and be such total jerks? Why was she born in this kind of family? Why can’t she be in a normal family? Why, why, why??

Finally she couldn’t stand it anymore. She ran off from her family, far away from the train, out of the train station and into the road. She refused to turn back at her mother’s frantic call. She didn’t want to have anything to do with Mr. Possible’s stern yell. She just kept on running. She wished she would just disappear out of the face of the earth. That way, she will have no more connection with this woeful family that has a vain father, a careless mother, a pair of twin brothers who acted like jerks just like the father and a boring tutor who has nothing to do with the family.

Soon she found herself at the abandoned railway. She slowed down her pace and dragged her tired body towards the luggage booth of the train—the usual spot where she and Ron always met. As she sat down, she started crying. She hated the cruelty of life. She hated everything that is going on right now in her pathetic family. She knew that sooner or later, her parents will find her and take her back, which made her hate her life even more.

“Kim, are you alright?” Ron popped out from below the train, a concerned look on his face. At the sight of him, Kim couldn’t care less anymore. She threw herself onto Ron’s chest and cried terribly. Ron didn’t know what was happening, but he held her close and waited until she had cried her heart out.

After she calmed down a little, Ron took her face and asked, “Now what seems to be the problem, hmm? Anything you’d like to share with Ron and Rufus here?”

Kim told him between tears about everything. Ron listened attentively, nodding once a while. Finally Kim finished by saying, “I don’t want to go. I don’t want to leave you. I don’t even want to go anywhere. I’m sick and tired of all this traveling. For once, I just want to stay put. I’m not going to move another inch from this spot! Even if they bring the SWAT team, I’m not going.”

“Be reasonable, Kim,” Ron said as he stroked her auburn hair. “Just be thankful you have real parents, unlike me. You shouldn’t make them unhappy.”

“But what about me? For years, I’ve been trying to make them happy, even when I’m not happy about it. Never once they paid any attention about what I want! All they care is about status and socializing with people of our ranking and…”

Ron stopped her short when he leaned forward to kiss her deeply on her lips. He wrapped his arms around her, bringing her closer to him, kissing her passionately. Kim didn’t attempt to fight it. She loved Ron too much to stop now. Time seemed to stand still between them as they kissed some more, not wanting to let each other go. It was beginning to drizzle outside but they didn’t care.

When they finally parted, Ron said, “Let’s run away together.”

“What?” Kim was surprised.

“I had a lead on where my real parents are. My friend in my night school, Wade, had a knack of investigating things and he got a clue about my real parents’ whereabouts.”

“But…But what about your foster parents here?”

“They’ll understand. Come, let’s go.”

So, hand in hand, Kim and Ron walked down the abandoned railway towards the train station. They hid to see if Kim’s family was there looking for her. So far, so good. They sneaked into one of the running trains and found a place to sit where it’s secluded enough for them to hide from the train conductor. They traveled quite a while and got lucky in averting the conductor’s attention. They fell asleep in the train, their heads laid onto each others’. Rufus snored peacefully in Ron’s chest pocket.

Luck wasn’t on their side. Soon a young conductor woke them up and told Kim to come with him. Kim refused to budge.

“I’m not going anywhere! You go back and tell them that I’m not going to follow them anywhere anymore!”

“I’m sorry, miss. I have my orders. Please don’t make this hard on me. I’m only doing my job.”

“Go, Kim,” Ron said. “Don’t make things any worse. I’ll find a way to contact you, I promise.”

“But, Ron,” Kim begged, her eyes filled with tears again. “I don’t want to leave you. I love you. I want to go with you to find your parents. I want…”

“Please, Kim. Go. If you don’t go, God knows how we are ever going to meet. I’ll find you again. I swear. I love you, Kim, but for now, I’m not worth your sacrifice.”

After a momentary silence, Kim let out a trembling sigh and followed the conductor. She still had her hand on Ron. She held on for dear life. She wished she would never ever let this loving hand go. She didn’t want to part with this special person who taught her more about appreciating people. Rufus popped out of Ron’s chest pocket and whined. He, too, was reluctant to his friend go.

“I love you, Kim.”

“I love you too, Ron.”

Their tightly grasped hands finally parted. Kim gazed at Ron sadly for the last time before getting off the train at the next stop.

Kim stretched herself out of her tired bones as she got off the train. She looked around. It was still the same autumn air. 10 years had passed and still nothing much has changed.

She walked slowly towards the postbox she always sent her letters to whenever she wanted to meet Ron. It was still there: C21. She ran her fingers through the dents and gaps of the postbox. Although a bit rusty, there was not much of a change it either.

10 years had passed since that fateful month. After she had returned to her parents, she, as expected, got a sound scolding from her father. Usually she would just sit there taking everything in, but this time, she fought back. She yelled at him for being so inconsiderate of her feelings, about being like a total jerk over status when everyone is just the same god damn human being like he was, about being sick and tired of traveling around all her life and never staying put and about all other things for that matter. The whole family was shocked at her sudden outburst. Her stubborn father insisted that she was corrupted by that ‘Irish luggage boy’. He sent her to an exclusive boarding school at Finland so that she’ll learn some respect.

He had no idea that this was Kim’s gateway to paradise.

She tried to find where Ron was throughout her days in boarding school but his foster parents knew nothing about his whereabouts and he left no form of contact. Her only hope was the train station in Ireland, where they first met.

Now that she was here, she still found no sign of him. She strolled towards the abandoned railway (which was still abandoned) and sat at their usual spot. She waited and waited but he didn’t show. The sun finally set and still he was a no-show. She finally accepted the fact that she’ll never see him again. Probably he even forgot about her after meeting his real parents. She sighed and got off the luggage booth, walking hopelessly towards the train station.

When she reached the train station and was about to board the train back to Finland (where she was now staying and working—she still refused to go traveling with her family), she saw someone familiar at the corner of her eye, standing there watching her. She turned around and saw that it was a man in his 20’s. He was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and an overall. He has long shoulder-length blonde hair and a pair of hazel-brown eyes. He didn’t have freckles anymore, but he sure had the same naked mole rat in his chest pocket.

The man smiled sheepishly as he held out the age-old card and whispered, “Queen of my hearts.”

Kim has finally found who she was looking for.

The Boy is Mine-Thrax/Ozzie/Drix

When I heard this song, I couldn't help thinking of Thrax fighting with Drix over Oz! XD It just screams to be made~!! LOL~!!

Here, in this vid, both of them have different perspectives over Oz. Drix thinks that Oz, despite being a blundering fool, is a good cop and an upright citizen, while Thrax thinks that Oz is a rebel and suited to be on the bad side, and both of them are fighting over which side Oz should be and who should he be loving more, telling that it's thanks to them Oz is who they think he was.

Drix, being the young naive college boy, sings Brandy's lines while Thrax, the seasoned and mature virus, sings Monica's lines.

Viral Love vs Pill Love

When the first time I saw Ariel333Lindt's video of Snarry vs Drarry fanvid in YouTube, I was intrigued and always wanted to do something similar. And now that my OJ obsession kicked in, I thought: What better way to do it than using my two OJ pairings? LOL~! So I did!

Ozzie/Drix-I Can't Be Your Friend

When I heard this song, I KNEW it was the right one for my first fav pairing of OJ, which is Ozzie/Drix! So, without hesitation, I got to work on this one. Again, the story behind this vid was:

Drix and Oz have been partners for a while after the Thrax incident, and weirdly, Drix seemed to often get into fights with Oz all the time, everyday without fail, taking a toll on their partnership. In secret, Drix had been starting to have feelings that was more than just professional partnership or mutual friendship for Oz, and was being difficult so that Oz would not notice. But when a common cold case gone awry and Drix was forced to leave, Oz soon realized that he, too, has feelings for him as he chased after him, begging him to return. He eventually did and they both solved the case, which earned Oz a promotion and the cell requested that Drix should be promoted alongside with him, indicating that he is willing to take him and Drix's relationship to the next level...

Ozzie/Thrax-Poison

I have always, always wanted to do this vid ever since I first heard the song and then rekindled my passion for Osmosis Jones. There is a story behind this vid:

Thrax had successfully done Frank in, but in this version of mine, Frank doesn't die immediately. He dies a slow, painful, heaty death. Everyone in Frank was prepared to accept the death of Frank and live on as long as the city could hold. While Oz and Drix tried to help the citizens of Frank keep it together, Oz stumbled upon a photo clipping of Thrax and suddenly he remembered the illicit affair he had with the virus even though knowing the virus was going to kill of Frank. Drix and Leah found out and had an argument with him, in which he angrily confessed about it, resulting in them deserting him and him getting fired. But as he walked alone into the cinema, he realized Thrax has returned for him...
