The Crying Traveler
"Wow, this is so cool!"
Nakh smiled as they walked along the seaside with Kalana on his shoulder for the first time.
"You like being here?" Nakh asked.
"Like it? I love it! This is far much better than staring down at the cliffs!"
To Nakh, it was pure happiness.
Love of the Damned
Thilius and Faira were jogging one autumn evening when suddenly, a wrong step caused Faira to sprain his ankle.
"Ouch!"
"You OK?" Thilius asked, concerned. "Nothing broken, right?"
"Just a sprain. It'll heal."
As they slowed down to a walking pace, Faira hobbled along the way, unable to keep up with Thilius. Thilius doubled back to his angel.
"Are you sure you're alright? Can you walk the rest of the way?"
"I'm fine," Faira tried to act strong, but being a wandering spirit, wounds heal much slower than when he was a full-fledged angel.
"You're an angel. You angel are bad liars," Thilius lamented. He went down on one knee and continued, "Come on. I'll carry you the rest of the way."
"Oh, alright. If you insist."
As they walked the rest of the way back with Faira on Thilius back, there could be no better happiness than this.
